To be a volunteer in Incawasi means committing to help out in the centre from 9 am to 4 pm, Monday to Friday. Volunteers take turns waking up at 8 am to open the door for the children and help the cook to prepare breakfast.
At 9:00, the children from the morning group receive milk and bread for breakfast, so they have plenty of energy for the day. From 9.30 to 12, volunteers help children with their homework, carry out activities, and reinforce whatever subjects they have difficulties in (spelling, reading, math exercises, etc.). At midday, the morning group is served a nutritious lunch prepared by our cook before the students leave Incawasi for school. Volunteers serve lunch and eat with the children.
Around 1 in the afternoon, the afternoon group arrives for lunch. At 2 pm classes start: The children do homework, activities and educational reinforcement. At 4 pm, before leaving Incawasi, the volunteers serve the children a milk and bread snack.
